Three Steps, Not One Plan
Most executives treat strategy like a single big decision made once a year and then defended.
The author breaks strategic thinking into a repeating loop of three steps. Recognise means spotting the patterns that signal a threat or opportunity hiding in the noise around your business. Prioritise means picking the few that genuinely matter and ignoring the rest. Mobilise means committing people and money to act on them. The loop then starts again, because your action creates fresh signals worth noticing. Speed through the loop matters more than crafting one perfect plan.
Strategic thinking is the process through which you recognize, prioritize and mobilize (RPM) to deal with challenges and opportunities. This is a cyclical process in which recognition of problems leads to prioritizing the most important ones and then mobilizing your organization to solve those problems.

Why it matters. If you think of strategy as a single decision, you will react late; if you treat it as a fast cycle you can outrun rivals who are still drafting their annual plan.
